Boston’s Tom Scholz (Credit: Bob Summers)Boston recently announced initial dates for a U.S. tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of its self-titled debut album, and now the band has filled out its itinerary with a bunch of new shows. The trek, which gets underway on April 29 in Hollywood, Florida, now includes 29 concerts and is mapped out through an August 13 gig in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Among the newly added dates are shows in Kansas City, Missouri; Salt Lake City; Seattle; Los Angeles; and Las Vegas. Visit BandBoston.com for links to purchase tickets to most of the scheduled shows.
In related news, Boston has launched a contest asking fans to help design the artwork for the official merchandise the band will be selling during the 40th anniversary tour. The group is looking for a 1970s-inspired image that pays homage to Boston’s memorable guitar-shaped spaceship logo or relates to the band’s four-decade career.
The winning designer will get $1,000, as well as two tickets and backstage passes to a Boston concert of his or her choosing taking place during the summer. In addition, the artwork will be featured on some of the merch sold during the trek. Two runners-up also will each win a pair of tickets and backstage passes to a show of their choice.
