Rod Stewart's “Another Country” Album First Single, Track Listing Released

Capitol Records/Penny LancasterWe’ve known since May that it was on the way, and we’ve even known the title.  Now, Rod Stewart’s announced his new country music album, titled Another Country, will be out October 23.

Like his 2013 album Time, which saw Stewart return to songwriting after years of releasing his celebrated Great American Songbook album series, ten of the 12 tracks on Another Country were written and produced by Stewart, including the lead-off single, “Love Is.”  A video for the song is now playing on VEVO, and features Rod and his band performing the song on the roof of the Capitol Records building in Los Angeles.

“When my last album was so well-received it gave me the confidence to keep on writing, and to examine and write about different things,” Rod says of Another Country in a statement. “It also gave me the freedom to experiment with different sounds like reggae, ska and Celtic melodies.”

Another Country’s available in as 12-track standard edition and 15-track deluxe edition.  The latter features two additional Stewart compositions, as well as “In a Broken Dream,” described as “the infamous 1968 Python Lee Jackson song featuring the vocals of a yet unknown Rod Stewart.”

If you pre-order the standard edition Another Country now, you’ll receive an instant download of the “Love Is,” while a pre-order of the deluxe edition also includes an instant download of “In a Broken Dream.”  You can order the album today at all the usual online digital retailers.
